music that soars!
Donna Hébert celebrates her 70th birthday with a fundraiser for Old Songs Community Center in Voorheesville NY. Old Songs has hosted The Great Groove Band, Donna’s youth music program, since 1998. Donna herself began playing for contradances with Dudley Laufman in 1972. Band members from some of her current and past ensembles – 3 Ravens, Mist Covered Mountains, Chanterelle, Rude Girls, Yankee Ingenuity – will join Donna in a day of music and dance to benefit Old Songs, with an afternoon concert, potluck supper, evening concert and dance.
Playing with Donna are:
Molly Hebert-Wilson with Rare Spirits
3 Ravens with Jane Yolen
Mist Covered Mountains Celtic ensemble
Max Cohen – songwriter & fingerstyle guitarist
Lyn Hardy (of Rude Girls) with her trio The Cupcakes
Josée Vachon & Liza Constable of Chanterelle
Gretchen Koehler – fiddler from the North Country
Fennig’s All-Stars – dance band
and Boston-area dancing master Tony Parkes. He and Donna founded Yankee Ingenuity.
